Internal Security Act
[edit]Even though Abdullah might be guilty of abuses of the controversial Malaysian ISA, I don't see why this article should have a section listing every use of this act, not explaining why this is relevant. If you feel like the article should discuss this then do so, not just quote information that isn't biographical about Abdullah Badawi. Sverrebm (talk) 11:46, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Someone having fun with his name
[edit]Noticed today someone having had a bit of fun with the article (anonymous user IP:60.50.59.252), changing Abdullah Badawi's name to Bodohwi. 'Bodoh' is Malay for 'idiot'. I changed the name back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sverrebm (talk • contribs) 18:53, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Sex Maniac
[edit]Does Pak Lah really mean sex maniac or what?
Pak Lah said that he like SEX —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.60.56.249 (talk) 06:04, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- No, it does not. It means "uncle Abdullah". Sverrebm (talk) 11:41, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Iban Bible
[edit]More detail on the Iban bible and why it was banned would be interesting, perhaps on a seperate page?
- What has the Iban bible got to do with this article? --Fantastic4boy 02:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Endon Mahmood
[edit]I have deleted the date and just stated that she is deceased in brackets. I personally feel that this is sufficient as all her personal particulars can be found in the article that I have created about her. Mr Tan 05:24, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
Endon Mahmood is not the "first lady" of Malaysia - that title goes to the wife of the "first man" ie the King of Malaysia's official consort. See Wiki "Yang di-Pertuan Agong" and related article "Rajas Permaisuri Agong". Abdullah's role in Team B was not as a supporter of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah but more in support of Musa Hitam, his political mentor. He was not "restored" to the Cabinet in 1993 by the grace and favour of Mahathir but by winning one of the three UMNO Vice President's post -- KJ
To be in the cabinet is the PEROGATIVE of the Prime Minister, It is not stated in any law or agreement anywhere that an UMNO Vice President is automatically appointed/become a Minister in the cabinet.--HT
Abdullah & his family including son in law thinks that it is his birth right to be in the cabinet. BTW nobody corrected the first lady thingy in the press all this while. Abdullah & son in law thinks it is kinda cool. --Kich
KJ, I'm not sure who you are and where you are trying to get us to, anyway the defination of 'First Lady', first lady is an unoffical term that is applied to the female spouse of an elected male head of state or head of government, Endon Mahmood (deceased), Nori (Abdullah's daughter) = First lady of Malaysia. Abdullah was restored to the cabinet by Tun Dr. Mahathir, he won the post later after being restored by the grace and favour of Tun Dr. Mahathir.--razilatif
What are the PM's points of view for the country as a whole, and how does he expect to achieve them?
[edit]I am doing a project on the Malaysian government and find that it would be helpful to know what Badawi's stand point is about his country. I haven't been able to find anything of what he is doing or has said he is going to do for his country and have now turned to the discussion as a point of reference. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks
- I haven't really been following his policy statements, but Article 153 of the Constitution of Malaysia cites a couple of his speeches that might prove useful. Johnleemk | Talk 04:21, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Answer:- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.48.117.113 (talk) 09:14, 12 June 2008 (UTC) As frankly speaking as Malaysian. Badawi got a lot of planning for the country such as Development of Corridor in most state in Malaysia and reducing oil subsidies to channeling it through his pocket. The development of the corridor is to boost money to his Son In Law Khairi (Kera Jadian)and his crony. We as Malaysian are trying hardly to sack him. He eventually collecting money hardly to his pocket before been sack. One thing he always forgetting that Malaysia is Crude Oil Producer. 60.48.117.113 (talk) 09:21, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Answer to 60.48.117.113: Malaysia maybe a crude oil producer but its reserve won't last him for the long time. So before an explosion of price begin, might as well do it now —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.50.38.216 (talk) 20:22, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Ancestry
[edit]I remember reading somewhere that Abdullah is of Chinese descent and has distant relatives in Hainan. Could you add more about his ancestry? This article looks very short to me, and he's a prime minister after all. --Terence Ong 05:06, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Sometime ago I thought I saw and an article about Abdullah and his Chinese Heritage. His maternal grandfather is Ha Siu Ching. But I check on chinese surname and I did not find any such surname. Since they are Hui Muslim from Sanya, Hainan, China. Could it be that Han not Ha by mistake. Please advise

I was a Phoneix village, Sanya, hainan the birthplace of Abdullah Badawi maternal grandfather. These Hui are true blood chinese from China the native of Hainan soil. They look like Chinese the only differeces is they are Muslim. Malay is not a race but part of Chinese minority the native of Hainanese soil they just happen to be a dark colour like malays, their habits and culture are Chinese. Please advise Marina Burn

[edit]Who died and made Najib his successor (successor as Deputy maybe, but the fact box makes it misleading that Najib is Abdullah Badawi's successor as PM) 218.111.2.36 22:36, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
→I think someone might have vandalized the article here, the succession box says he's been succeeded by Fidel Castro. 202.162.21.135 (talk) 10:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Last paragraph says: Bottom line, ramai org Malaysia tak berapa suka kat Pak Lah ni, mostly because dia tak cukup peka dengan keadaan dan keperluan rakyat dan imej dia memang sudah calar sebagai seorang perdana menteri yang berkebolehan. Pak Lah, tolonglah dengar keperluan rakyat Malaysia..
Can this be translated to English please?

Vandalism: Protect this page please!
[edit]Someone has vandalised this article by adding the death date of Pak Lah even though he is still alive, as well as the change from Kepala Batas to Kepala Otak. Even though I don't really like this guy, but please protect this article from futher vandalism. Thanks. Hezery99 (talk) 02:23, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Bias wiki entry
[edit]This wikipedia entry of Pak Lah is rather bias and inaccurate. Also, it lacks of neutrality and only aims to smear his name. Petitiopn for this wiki entry to be reviewed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.50.38.216 (talk) 14:13, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
